Art Sapp

Captain

Art Sapp is the fearless leader of the Liquid fishing team. At 39 years of age, he has spent about 37 of those years chasing fish on the ocean. There are not enough showers in the world to wash all that salt out of his hair. Growing up, he and his father Lamar spent at least one day a week together on the ocean. That has grown to become a five to six day a week obsession now. When he’s not preparing for a tournament or fishing a tournament, you’re most likely to find him on his commercial day boat fishing for Swordfish by night or on his 32’ SeaVee guiding his customers to the catch of their lifetime. His best catches to date are his wife Katie Sapp and their 3 year old daughter Kira, a top female angler in the making!

Jim Demarco, AKA “Lippy”

Jim has been fishing his entire life; bass fishing as a kid then graduating to a pier rat ,fishing bridges from the Keys to Stuart, “the East Coast Adventure”, and now competitive fishing. Captain Art and Jimmy have the longest standing fishing relationship together on the team. Prior to joining the Liquid team, both Art and Jimmy fished summer meatfish tournaments together on Art’s 32’ SeaVee for many many years.

Jimmy is married with a 5 year old son named James. He hopes that one day his son will follow in his footsteps and share the same love for the ocean that he had growing up.

Besides being one bad ass mother who doesn’t take crap from anyone and always speaks what is on mind, he is a fisherman at heart.

He grew up fishing with his dad who was a professional sport fish captain for many years in South Florida. He would fish off of any dock, seawall, beach and boat I could as a kid growing up. He has been tournament fishing for over 15 years with great success. Good enough success to earn a spot on “The Liquid” with some of the best fishermen on the Eastern seaboard. If you want gut busting laughs combined with intense fishing action all day long, Liquid is your team.

When he is not fishing, Jim spends, well pretty much all of his time, okay well he really just lives on the New River in downtown Ft. Lauderdale where his company, tows multimillion dollar mega yachts up and down the river. One thing he never wants to hear is….’YOU SCRATCHED MY ANCHA!’. Steel Towing is a family affair with a gorgeous wife and 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son. Salt water runs through our all of our veins.

Jim is well known for bringing the quick wit and dry humor to the boat on any given moment. He claims champion status in the atomic sit up category but no one on his team has ever been man enough to challenge him!

Steve Dougherty, AKA “Steve-O”

Native to South Florida, Steve has been fortunate to experience some amazing angling adventures. He recently told us his fondest memories include chasing big blue marlin in the Bahamas, double-digit release days off Isla Mujeras, slaying swords in the ‘Stream, and battling roosterfish in East Cape. Besides fishing, Steve enjoys surfing, diving, underwater photography and anything else that keeps him out of the house. Born and raised right here, Steve claims there is nowhere else he’d rather be. ”Where else can you catch snook, swordfish and sailfish during the same day?”
